A deep Vinyasa flow is linking breath to movement. The pace is little faster, the sequencing is more free style and creative where you will develop strength, flexibility, and endurance. I incorporate the Ashtanga postures in the flow as I guide you to move around the mat. You will have the opportunity to arm balances and take flight in handstands.
Ashtanga yoga is one of the oldest known practices in India. This sacred, traditional practice is a challenging endurance-based practice that incorporates dristhi (gaze), bandhas (energy locks), and Ujjyai pranayama (breath). Utilizing these three points of focus allow the body to cleanse itself by deep twisting, forward folding, back bending, and arm balancing.
This yoga class will focus on the Yin postures and increasing flexibility in places where athletes need it most. Yin postures are seated or laying down on the mat. I warm the body with three rounds of Sun Salutation A. Then we stay on the mat for seated postures.
